In 2014, Startups Care raised $5948.95 and approximately 2 tonnes of food for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank.
We’re excited to be back supporting them for another year to give back to the community we’re so fortunate to be a part of! In addition to collecting donations for the Food Bank, we are also supporting Startups Care by waiving all of our fees and allowing all of the 70+ Startups Cares partner companies to crowdfund for the cause on our platform for free.
On December 16th, members from the Vancouver startup community will be canvassing Vancouver to pick up non-perishable food items collected by a wide variety of the city’s companies. All donations will be delivered to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society. GVFBS will ensure that the donations reach the right folks this holiday season. Because of their scale, the GVFB is able to purchase 3 dollars of food for every dollar donated which makes it the best way to help. 100% of the donations received by the Startups Care initiative will go directly to the GVFBS and we will provide tax receipts for every donation over $20.
